About The Position/Job Responsibilities

Rose, Snyder & Jacobs LLP is looking for an accountant who can manage a set of client relationships and perform full charge bookkeeping, accounting and business management duties, and assist with controller- and CFO-type services that we provide to our clients.

The ideal candidate will be able to manage clients back-office accounting needs, which include maintaining client general ledgers by entering accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, recording monthly/quarterly journal entries, maintaining fixed asset listings and depreciation schedules, preparing account reconciliations, maintaining vendor lists and handling client bill payment activities, processing payroll, and preparing financial statements on both cash and accrual bases.

Our preferred candidate will also have experience preparing Forms 1099 and Form 1096, annual Form 571-L Business Property Statements, annual city business license applications and renewals, quarterly payroll tax filings, quarterly sales and use tax returns, and related small business filings.

The candidate will also have to maintain a working relationship with selected clients, keep up to date on client matters and their changing needs, communicate such information to their Supervisors at the Firm, as well as work closely with company personnel to coordinate work performed in different departments. Clients come from a variety industries, including healthcare, professional services, entertainment, start-up, nonprofit and real estate.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 4 years RECENT experience as an accountant, performing full-charge bookkeeper duties
  • Proficient with QuickBooks (Desktop and Online versions) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
  • Experience with automation of transaction inflow into QuickBooks, and other software and applications used for automation of back-office processes (such as, receipt bank, etc.)
  • Experience with preparation of Forms 1099/1096,571-L, 940/941, sales and use tax returns
  • Experience processing payroll and handling the monitoring and upkeep necessary for changing health insurance premiums, etc.
  • Experience working in the restaurant and/or hospitality industry strongly desired.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary, depending on experience, is $55-65,000 per year plus overtime; there is a competitive health benefit plan including participation in our 401(k) program.  We also offer a generous benefits program, including 20 paid days off per year for first-year employees, continuing education, and more.
