About Stephen Wise Temple:

Founded in 1964, Stephen Wise Temple is one of the largest Reform Jewish synagogues and schools in the world. About the position:

  • Direct the admissions process from point of inquiry through enrollment for Wise School Early Childhood
  • Present the school to prospective parents and students, which includes systematic and efficient handling of applications and communications with parents; tours of the institution; interviews with parents, arrangements for prospective student screening; communicating final decisions of the appropriate individuals
  • Develop with the Director of Communications appropriate admissions and marketing materials, ads, mailings, web pages and publications that interpret the school to prospective families
  • Initiate and create activities (Open Houses) intended to interest parents and educational and parenting consultants in sending students to Wise
  • Promote good relationships with outside institutions or groups that can be helpful in attracting students
  • Oversee the network of parents who assist in the admission program
  • Represent the school at various gatherings and conferences related to admissions
  • Place all Pre-K children in appropriate elementary schools, where applicable (those not going to public school), which includes working with families to ensure they are properly educated about the application process and understand exactly what needs to be accomplished
  • Work with the Parent Ambassadors
  • Serve on the administrative team
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience working in a relevant professional context, prior admissions experience preferred
  • Marketing and/or education background a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with public speaking, and excellent at building relationships
  • Ability to organize effectively and work both independently and as part of the Early Childhood Administrative Team
  • High energy, detail oriented

This is a part-time, 20 hour/week position to start with the possibility of moving to full-time.
