About the Position

Under the direct supervision of the Executive Chef, the cook is responsible for hot food preparation for banquets, member dining experience and the employee dining room.

About You

You are an outgoing and personable professional, committed to a career in the hospitality industry. You understand and live by the concept of being a “team player”, making sure that collaboration is essential to your success, as well as the success of those you work with.  You have experience as a prep or line cook, but understand it takes a team effort to produce meals for the high standards expected by our members and guests.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for quality and portion control of hot food preparation and ensures product is produced in a timely manner with an equal level of quality
  • Rotate stock in cold storage to ensure all meat, fish and poultry is fresh
  • Maintains cleanliness of refrigeration and food preparation areas
  • May head a carving station to serve members and guests at banquets and special functions
  • All other duties as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in a hospitality career
  • Minimum 3 years experience working as a prep or line cook
  • Knowledge of cooking lunch and dinner in a fast pace restaurant
  • Proven ability to work the line efficiently and expedite
  • Experience in Pantry and Sauté
  • Efficient and uniform knife skills
  • Ability to interact with vendors, coworkers, members, guests, and management in positive, supportive, cooperative ways.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service oriented environment, perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, use hands, see, talk, hear, lift up to 50 pounds, carry, push, pull or move objects.
  • Ability to read, understand, and comply with all safety rules and use appropriate safety equipment at all times.
  • All other duties as assigned by management

Highly competitive and commensurate with experience.
