About the Position

The Director of Business Development key responsibilities are to generate new clients through business to business prospecting, telemarketing, networking, referrals and maximizing existing relationships with Financial Advisors, CPAs, Employment Attorneys, Payroll Representatives, Insurance brokers, and other. The DBD will target companies of various sizes and industries while calling on decision makers such as Business Owners, and C-Suite Executives. This is a newly created position that reports directly to the Managing Director.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Market and sell our human resources consulting services by prospecting and acquiring new clients;
  • Develop relationships with potential and current referral sources, such as employee benefits providers, payroll representatives, CPAs, employment attorneys, etc.
  • Develop and implement an effective sales plan to meet or exceed established sales objectives for medium to large size accounts;
  • Evaluate and determine client needs and a plan of action to offer Human Capital solutions;
  • Develop rapport and evaluate the business owner/decision maker's Human Capital Management needs, determining which products are appropriate;
  • Make formal sales presentations and follow-up calls to prospective new business accounts;
  • Prepare RSJ/Swenson Consultants who will work on the new clients and accounts and transition the assigned Consultant to the client at the close of the deal;
  • Project a positive image consistent with our values in representing RSJ/Swenson to clients and the community;
  • Manage and update a CRM Software and prospect pipeline;
  • Understand our services as well global human resources and workforce issues and markets.

Job Requirements

  • 2-4 years of business to business sales experience;
  • Human Resources/Organizational Development industry experience, preferably in business development;
  • Familiar with consultative, solutions-based selling;
  • Strong sales presentation and persuasion skills;
  • Possess a high sense of urgency and self confidence;
  • Network of potential referral sources strongly preferred;
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Energetic, self-starter who can lead and achieve sales goals.

Compensation:

Base salary plus aggressive and unlimited commission.  There is also a “trailer” commission that will be paid as long as you remain with RSJ/Swenson.

Paid vacation and sick days.

We do not pay for relocation.
