About the Position

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator position is exclusively dedicated to coordinating marketing and communication initiatives to promote better awareness externally about the Club and internally about the events and activities for members and their guests.  This is accomplished through the implementation of projects and activities which increase and retain membership and create member usage.  This position reports to the General Manager.

About The Riviera Country Club (RCC)

Opened in 1927, The Riviera Country Club has a storied history. Its championship golf course is world-renowned, and the RCC has played host to the US Open, the US Senior Open, two PGA Championships, and the NCAA Men’s Golf finals.  The RCC has recently been chosen to host the prestigious US Amateur Golf Championship in 2017.  The Tennis Club opened in 1963. It has hard courts, clay courts, and practice courts, along with programs for all levels of play.

About You

You are an outgoing and personable professional with a keen interest in graphic design, communication, and marketing.  You are knowledgeable about social media and up-to-date on the latest methods of communication.  You understand and live by the concept of being a “team player,” making sure that collaboration is essential to your success, as well as the success of those you work with.  You care innately about people, and your goal is to please members and fellow employees.  “It’s not in my job description” is not part of your professional vocabulary.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute Club’s marketing communications internally and externally as appropriate
  • Conduct marketing orientation with new members and new staff to make them knowledgeable about all of the events and activities at the Club
  • Assist, along with the Membership Development Manager, the implementation of new member functions for tennis, twice per year
  • Organize production of membership kits for the Membership Development Manager
  • Communicate project requirements, and work with, Graphics Designer and content creators (in-house or out-sourced)
  • Continually interact with members and staff to ensure that they are aware of club activities and services to meet their needs
  • Coordinate all Club public relations efforts, members’ newsletters, news and media events and club brochures
  • Recommend the annual marketing budget for club, monitor to ensure compliance with the budget and make necessary changes throughout year to meet budgeted targets
  • Write, compose and serve as the editor of the quarterly Employee Newsletter.  Work on this in conjunction with the HR Administrator.
  • All other duties as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • One year of marketing and professional communication experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, appropriate graphics-related software, and an aptitude for learning other software programs
  •  Capable of performing multiple duties under pressure and work in a customer-service environment
  • Able to interact with members, co-workers, vendors, and management in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way, at all times, reflecting the Riviera culture, values and tradition.
  •  Able to walk throughout The RCC’s grounds daily, understanding and complying with all safety rules


Competitive salary in the range of $40,000 - $45,000, plus 100% paid single health, dental and life.  Vacation and sick days, plus participation in The RCC’s 401K program with a generous match.
